I thought it would be interesting to show the changes in the Fisk Tire Boy through the early part of his life. The first card is a post card with a postmark of 1912. The second post card through research I was able to date in the 1916-1918 range. The third ink blotter is dated 1926. The final photo is a blotter from 1928, the first year of the short lived smiling Fisk boy. I found it interesting to see the changes in the tread and size of the tires in the 15-20 year age difference in these cards. I also found it interesting to see the boy change his apperance from brownish hair to blond, and to see his face change as well. Early in the 1930's he even changed from footie pajamas to wearing slippers. I couldn't find much advertising in the mid 1930's; but by 1937 he was back to the yawning, footie PJ boy we are more used to in photo #3.
