I have a pair of these - found them in my mother's house but they may have been hers or my grandmother's. They consist of two layers, the pearlized looking plastic top, and a clear layer underneath which has the loop for 6the button to be sewn on. They're stunning, but I haven't a clue where they're from or what they would have fastened originally. A Kimono, maybe?

This is a late Victorian celluloid Button with a brass dragon escutcheon and it was probably worn on a heavy coat or cape. Very nice!
