i found this in North Carolina picking a site. i love it and just wondering were it came from and what is the history of it

I have one very similiar to that. It is not exactly the same but the figures and markings are the same. My mom left it to me when she passed. I loved the design. Not sure of the history behind the piece but definitely a wonderful piece.
