My wife and I acquired this piano when we bought our house from the local historical society. We are unable to date the piano as the only number we have found on it is 10231 stamped in many different areas of the piano but nothing on the soundboard. It's a Grade 3 piano in very good condition. I would suspect with the given serial number that the piano may be a pre-1900's piece. It is playable though needs a tuning pretty bad and one key sticks but looks repairable. I would like more info on this such as a date of manufacture and a possible value estimate.

I have a piano very similar to this one. Mine is dated Sept 24th 1895. I've browsed and found some for sale anywhere from $750-$5000.

According to the "BluebookofPianos", http://www.bluebookofpianos.com/kimball.htm that serial number places it as being manufactured in 1891, which makes it quite an early production for WW Kimball. Quite rare indeed.
