Here is a very stylish hat made of stiff black lack with wider strips winding through it. It has a large rose on the edge. looking to see if age of hat can be established. Is it 30' 40's or 50's style?

The photo looks to be from the early to mid- 1950s, but that doesn't mean that's how old the hat is. It might be older. Sorry, I'm not very helpful.
I think mid 50's is a good estimate. It has a Space Age look to it. Do you have the hat? Or are you just curious as to the age of the photo?
I don't actually have the hat. I'm trying to establish a date of the hat to maybe guess the age of the woman in the photo. I found it behind a photo of my wives Uncle and 2nd wife. I was guessing that this was maybe a photo of his first wife but timeline of photo doesn't look right. I can see that the photo was at one time displayed as it has stains on it that I shopped out. The picture of the 2nd wife and uncle were from sometimes in the 40's or real early 50's so the picture we are talking about is most likely in the same range. It's such a beautiful picture it's a shame that she might go unrecognized forever now. I posted the photo here just grasping at straws so to speak hoping someone might have almost the same hat image somewhere with a solid date.
Very pretty lady . I am going with it being the 50's the hat and also the style of her dress . That neckline became popular very early 1950's and end of the 40's . Hope you will be able to identify her .
