    Could this be a Civil War soldier? I bought this 9th plate tintype with a "pinchback" mat on it and inserted into a Dag-type case. I removed it from the case and took the mat off to take this picture. His coat seems similar to CSA jackets and it looks like there is a metal button on the lower front. IDK.....what do you guys think?

      Coat is not a military type jacket.

      The interior lining along the button backing area looks to be post war.

      Nothing in the image indicates any military affiliation, north or south.
