I'm posting this w/ the hope of finding out if my knowledge of this blanket is accurate and if not where it really comes from.
As a collector I've learned that information coming with a piece is not necessarily true but having said that the only information I have comes from what is written across the wood brace attached to the back for display purposes.
It has the name of the officer who used it in late 19th cen. in Sweden and also states that the blanket came w/ family members who immigrated to the US in the early 20th cen..
Sorry that my pic is of poor quality, it does not do justice to the richness of the colors and the wonderful patterns!
I wish I could say this lovely piece belongs to me but it hangs on the wall of a friends home. I promised him I would do my best to authenticate as much as I could. I'm also working on the genealogy of the family so it would be great to know if what is written on the back could be true.
Thanks again to anybody who can help me out!
