Crescent Hand Pump with foot rest

I found this beautiful hand pump. It seems to be in pretty good condition (some day I will dare to check its functionality pumping water from a bucket). Does anybody know the origin of the brand (Crescent) and if it was only used for water or could pump fuel with it?
