I recently discovered this barbed wire. I was trying to see when about it was made. maybe by who? If it is a rare wire worth collecting. If anyone has any information for me I would be so greatful. It is just a sinlge wire with the points wrapped around it. You can acually move the points on the wire, like they are loose.

We've called this wire Mexican Salisbury for many years. The original find was in Mexico, hence the nickname. There's no patent info so far. It's #12G in the Barbed Wire ID Encyclopedia. Valued at 5 bucks for an 18" sample with no broken or missing barbs. It's worth keeping, maybe a start of a wire collection???
