Another good find. First photo is of a US Marine and a Navy Sailor. Brothers? Neighbors? Friends?? thats unknown. I am guessing mid war, because the Marine has the rank of Corporal, and has a 4yr service hash on his sleeve, also some campaign ribbons. Sailor is just an E-2 new to the ranks.
Next photo shows 4 lads, 3 Army soldiers, and one Sailor. Sailor is an E-3, and 2 of the 3 Soldiers have shoulder rank, 4yr service hash & over seas service stripes, as well as campaign ribbons. 2 soldiers also have shooting badges. One is also wearing the leather Garrison belt, which by late war was discontinued.
Amazing all the little details you can pick out just by looking at a random snap shot from the past.
