      or find the 1955 double die penny,,,pretty rare.
      Save all the wheat pennies,,,they re becoming scarce.

      Hey; notice the faint, vaguely rectangular, raised area near the center of Mr. Lincoln's neck; how it appears to continue "beneath" the collar? That, my friend, is the result of what is called a, "Die Clash". What you're seeing is an impression of the coin's reverse design, transferred to the coin's obverse side during the minting process. Equally, a careful, highly magnified examination of the "Wheat Ears" reverse should reveal faint impressions of the obverse design,....inverted, inside out, and upside down. Or something like that. The 1940 P, -( No Mint Mark )- is also a rare year boasting double duty status as both Doubled Die Obverse, and Doubled Die Reverse. Can't say for certain, though I believe that's precisely what you have there. Too cool! A Die Clash DDO/DDR. If so, very rare indeed. Good luck, and hopefully,...congrats!
