My husband bought this from a vendor at an engine show this summer. He was going to give it to me for Christmas; but he could not figure out what type of lamp it was. The vendor he purchased it from didn't know either.

I would like to know what type of plate it needs so that I can purchase a shade for it.

I don't know much about this but it reminds me of a base for a tilt samovar (coffee pot).

Looks like an alcohol food warmer missing the pot/dish/server.

After reading the comment from mrmajestic1, I did a little more research and have to agree that this is not a lamp or lantern. It is indeed a tilting coffee pot. My next endeavor is to find a coffee pot that somewhat matches the holder.

Thank you to mrmajestic1 and blunderbuss2 for their input. My husband also thought it was a food warmer and did some extensive research before he gave it to me.
