Hi, there! I really don't know anything about this chair. It could be Moorish, 19th century. Can't see it very well. Someone else will have to work on this one. I don't have the expertise. Don't despair! Sometimes it takes a while. : )
thanks for trying mikko, i,ll try to be patient x
Best way to get a very fast response on CW is to post a very strange and wacky looking vase. : ) There are a good many glass hounds on this site. They go crazy over glass vases. : )
maybe i could sit a weird vase on it,,,,i,ve got an orrefors on, would that do it,lol x
for real? really desperate to know about the chair x
Oh, nelliedean - ha ha ha!! I almost recommended that to you but then deleted my advice. Really, CW is full of kralik-krazed individuals. eye4beauty just solved a difficult furniture ID for someone!!!, so maybe he'll pull another rabbit out of a hat for you. : ) He's very good at pulling rabbits out of hats. : )
Thanks mikko, I think he,s going to have to be a migician or a genius,,,,,,I got one line back from appraisers saying "most probably european" and an estimated value,,,,,,,wow, nothing more to do, according to them,,,,,,really, is that all they,ve got???? grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! x
This is what I just got from entering the search string "images of antique Moorish x-frame chairs" in Google's image search function. Some important similarities. I'm not saying that your chair is antique. I'm far too ignorant in this area to have any sort of intelligent opinion. : )

if you can solve this mystery eye4beauty i,ll send you the silly vase, lol x
Thank you so much for your kind words, nelliedean!!! But I really have no expertise in this area of furniture. eye4 is a man of 'many expertises'!. He does like strange vases, though.... : ) (By the way, I'm a woman. Many think I'm a guy because of the nickname - then they see my trolls and perfume, and they know I'm a woman. Nice to meet you!)
heres the vase http://www.etsy.com/listing/116728394/nils-landberg-for-orrefors-5-graysmoke,,,,,,,,,,nothing too special, sadly, but very pretty x
I,m jacqueline and it,s very nice to meet you,,,,,,,apologies for my presumptions! I,m in scotland where are you? x
That's a wonderful vase! Ah, minds will be spinning..... : )
Hi, nelliedean! I'm in the Midwestern section of the USA. No worries about the inference - I guess my CW moniker does sound a bit like a guy's name. Scotland sounds wonderful. The land of the Scottish Terrier! (Don't tell the Westies I said that, please. : )
I wont,,,,pretty cold here right now and almost one am,i should so be in bed, thanks again for your help,I really appreciate it x
Oh, 1 am, yes, sounds like you should retire. You're very welcome! : ) x
