I was told this is a Steiff Mohair Antique teddy bear, it was my great grandma's and is over 100 years old. I see that they are valued around $4000-$7000 for the ones like this, my question is. How do you tell exactly how old it is? It has no tags or anything on it. thx.

From these pictures, I do not think this bear is from the Steiff company. This blog post describes the standard look and feel of most century-old Steiff bears, (http://mysteifflife.blogspot.com/2009/09/keeping-things-centered-with-steiff.html) and you can see that that his face (especially his muzzle), ear placement, and body proportions are not typical to Steiff. Don't cook it....
Hi!
Your bear is definitely not Steiff. He appears to be a Knickerbocker with a value of around $200. In addition, he is not over 100 years old, but more likely from the 20s-50s. Since the pix are not clear, I cannot be sure of the age.
