Imperial German Dragoon stein, that comes from an elite unit, the 21st Baden dragoons. Reservist Rupp served with 40 other calvarymen from 1900-1903 and was garrisoned in Bruchsnal and Schwetzingen. The stein stands at nearly 11 inches tall. This colorful stein has full handwritten roster, one of the reservists with the name of Zeppelin, perhaps a relative of the famous airship inventor?? Also listed on the stein Benz, possibly the famous auto builder, pure speculation but interesting none the less. The scene on the left shows a group of Dragoons saying farewell to their "lady loves" while the trumpet blows. The center scene shows a Dragoon in full uniform with lance and steed at "the ready", above the state colors of Baden-Wurttenburg and Prussia. The scene on the right shows the regiment at full gallop in battle charging the enemy. The pewter is tight with the Baden- Wurttenburg coat of arms as the thumblift. The finial is a correct replacement of a rearing horse, surmounted by a Dragoon with a lance.
