    The sheath is two pieces of hand carved wood held together by what appears to be brass. The item itself has a handle of the same carved wood that latches into the sheath. There are no identifying markings on the metal or the wood

      I've had one person tell me it sounds like it could be from India without even seeing it but they haven't seen it and I know absolutely nothing about it. My wife bought it at an estate auction years ago knowing nothing about it except it looked interesting. The auction company knew nothing about it either.
