My wife owns a quilt shop and through the years, she has made many samples of quilts and projects to show off the fabrics and patterns she sells. But for as much as she loves to sew, we don't tend to display many of the finished projects in our own home. This one was an exception.
Made from a line of fabric that was actually promoted as a Christmas line, this quilt remains up all year - at 5' square, pretty much looming over the entire room. (I couldn't even stand far enough back from it to get the entire quilt, so the border - the one with the cardinals - is detailed in the 3rd photo). From this border, the custom quilting design was chosen - and those cardinals from the 4th photo are stitched through all of the layers and are actually part of the quilting.
