    Just inherited from my husband's grandmother and would love to know more about it! No markings of any kind. Hubby seems to remember it being wicker seat at one point. Only about three feet tall.

      I would think it had caning seat but the wood has be confused ,usually these old cane chairs are Oak or Walnut . Not sure what yours is . Very nice heirloom ! Now if it had caning you should see little holes under pad . look under chair and see if you can see the holes all around seat opening . Here is good video on how to cane
