You may have noticed a few changes at Collectors Weekly since our site joined the Barnebys family at the end of 2017. We know that change isn’t always easy, but we hope these improvements will make CW a better place to shop for, learn about, and share your favorite vintage items, antiques, and collectibles.
Our first major overhaul of 2018 was to make Collectors Weekly friendly for users on tablets and mobile devices. While our website was created as a desktop-centric experience way back in 2008, future improvements will work for all users, whether you’re on a mobile device, a tablet, a laptop, or a desktop computer.
After more than a decade of text-only emails, we finally added links and small images to our weekly auction alerts. We’ve also started offering a new Wednesday subscription option so you can get updates on eBay sales twice a week. Our engineering team is currently working to create an improved newsletter design, allowing subscribers to more easily shop their favorite categories. We are also fixing a few annoying email-delivery bugs to ensure you get all the CW updates you’ve signed up for.
After hearing many requests for additional shopping filters, we added several new capabilities to our Shop pages. These include filters for “Newest” and “Low Price” as well as a price-slider tool, allowing users to only see items within a certain price range. In the coming months, we will continue to update these tools to improve the shopping experience on CW.
In October of 2018, we began adding eBay’s “Buy It Now” items to some of our pages, expanding our hand-filtered shopping experience to a vast selection of fixed-price vintage and antiques. In April of 2019, we began adding hand-filtered listings from Bonanza.com. Bonanza fixed-price items are intermixed with eBay listings on many of our category pages, and can be filtered and searched using the tools at the top of our shopping interface. Any thumbnail that includes the Bonanza logo will take you straight to the Bonanza listing.
From email alerts to photo uploading, there are several features you’ve asked us to improve our Show & Tell platform. Our engineers are currently working on many of these fixes, and we hope to begin rolling out improvements by the end of 2019.
