YesteryearsTools

Author Tom Lamond’s YesteryearsTools focuses on axes and other edge tools, from spokeshaves to hatchets, produced in the United States from roughly the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s. Axes wielded by firemen are covered, as are those swung by loggers. While the component parts of these hand tools are described in great detail (check out the Axe Nomenclature page), the site pays particular attention to the labels and brands associated with such firms as Blood Axe Factory, Collins, Plumb, Stanley, American Axe & Tool, and many more.
