Hand-painted lamps

I came across these lamps at a thrift store and I would like to see if anyone can help me identify who the maker is, who the artist is or when they were made. They are hand-painted and signed by the artist with a "K." The design has green and gold leaves and gold-painted edges on the lamp. They're very attractive. They are also three-way lamps.

My best guess on the time period is some time around the 1950's. The prongs on the plugs state "Academy Automatic" and I was able to find some information about them on the internet.
