40's 50's Chinese king and queen 3 ft table lamps

These 2 lamps are that my mother purchased in the 40's or 50's. I have never seen any lamps like these. The shades are huge with unusual shapes. I like them because they are so unusual. They're hard to put with today's decor though.

I would love to know if anyone else has seen this type of lamp or could add any additional info.
