This photograph was taken at the Christmas Studio in Lansing, Michigan.
The Christmas studio appears in the 1888 Lansing City Directory, the photographer is Henry J. Christmas. In 1888, Mr. Christmas was partnered with another photographer in a different studio.
I really love the "tree" that he's leaning on. It's a really nice aspect that makes the photo more interesting.
