A friend found this buried in her back yard in Michigan. It looks like a button with Civil War stuff on it. Do you have any idea what it could be from? Some sort of uniform? Thanks...

Hard to tell without seeing the back of the Button but I believe these were made in the 1970's to celebrate the United States Bicentennial, the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, celebrated in 1976. They were made as souvenirs for the many Patriotic events nationwide and sold in select sewing shops as well.
