What kind of chair is this? Found it in a local antique shop. Has storage in the seat. Could it be a hall tree? When I first saw it, it reminded me of something I would see in a great hall or stage. Interesting design.

It looks like a man;s dressing chair to me but I am not a expert just reminds me of ones I have seen .Valet Butler dressing chair instead of a built in hanger they used knobs to hang clothes on while dressing ?
