The car is made out of metal... i found it cleaning out my childs closet. He is now 20 and in the Air Force.... So has anyone seen anything like this.. Its a weird color green. Not metal flake. Kinda luminous green. Redline wheels.... I dont know what else to add. So what do you think?

Original casting was red and issued 1970-1977 -- the Vintage series was a re-issue that came out in 1994 with eleven different body colors.

Oh really ... thought it was kind of funny ...a Green Red Barron. I wonder why the bottom of it says 1969. Do you know if they were all redlines also? Its a cool little car... I was surprised that it was made out of metal. I thought they had stopped. Thank you very much for you comments and information..

I think 1969 is on there as nostalgia- & the year it was released originally.
The date & Mattel logo are in a different place on an actual old one and the "Vintage" logo would not exist.
This is a '94 release. Also the metal bottom looks cheap.. like pot metal.
I have 2 originals.. Love them both
