My BIG Brass Trivet

I found this on one of many adventure's through long empty old house's. I don't think it is very old, there is a small mark on it, but I can't make out what it is, possibly a single letter ? it was all green, and had so much black "stuff" on it I wasn't even sure what it was, other than possibly a trivet. we took it home, and put it in a tub of hot water, and let it sit overnight. the next day I took a soft bristle horse brush, and lightly scrubbed it clean. I knew it was heavy, but never thought it would be solid brass, and an Unicorn ! a friend lightly cleaned it up a little more, and this is what I got ! it is (from hoof, to horn) 6" high, it is (from knee, to tail)a little over 11" long, and it weighs 1# 11 oz. we set it on top of our wood stove, and put a kettle of water on it to add moisture to the house in the winter.
