We 'dug this up' and are not sure what it is! It is oval, and the hole is off-set from center.
There are small bumps on the edges of three sides, as if there should be a connecting part/cover.
There is one remaining small spot of reflecting 'foil', which may have covered more of the glass.
Can you help identify this item?

Are there any writings any where on the shade?

Thank you for your thoughtful comment!
We have looked very carefully, and cannot find any lettering/numbers, etc.
We think it is a shade for a storefront display case.
We found something similar online called, "vintage industrial scoopette showroom shade with metallic copper finish".

This shade once had a mercury glass lining and probably a green painted surface. They were often used in medical situations. Your shade has lost it's value unfortunately due to the finishes being lost.
