I got this item a while back when I bought an old house at an estate sale. I have looked this item up on the internet and can't find any real information out about this bottle. Any information on this item would be greatly appreciated. I have found a lot of information on the Newcastle on Tyne brewery but would like to get an idea of when this type of jug may have been used and how common they are.

I have one too from the Webb Brewery and haven't found much information. They are huge and very cool. The only thing I can figure is that the beer or ale was transported in these.
