    (3 items)

Purchased these today from a family who had a connection who used to scout estate sales for special items. These were one of his finds.

Unf they were completely rewired and I have zero idea how low of a bulb I should try (but assume should use LED as so much less strain?) (I was told both work) however on the good side (I’ve learned) no one has attempted to polish or clean any of the brass detail up and it is extremely fine with no damage right above base also with a gorgeous leaf over the cord exit.

These are a slightly milky green glass with what appears to be gold painted detailing. Some of it is imperfect but amazingly much of it is in fantastic shape.

Swirls, flowers, dragon flies, birds and butterflies adorn the lamps all painted (or appliquéd on??) in thick gold that feels very raised to the touch. as a tree hugger and nature nut from way back, it was these motifs so beautifully executed that drew me to these lamps - in addition to the gorgeous green color - initially. That and just how unique they were. I wasn’t sure but I had a feeling that perhaps I had found something special.

Tried per your article to find manufacturing information. I was able to read one sticker that amazingly was still attached.

    It said:

“Handwork Quality, O P B, Made in Czechoslovakia”

I was surprised by this and have not yet researched the maker.

The shade appears original and is clearly fine/custom. There is a sewn in tag that reads “Custom Tailored by Roseart , Fifth Ave, NY”

I looked up Roseart and it seems they’ve merged with another high quality custom shade purveyor Canterbury? however the about info on the main page states that both companies represent the finest in custom shades ever made in the U.S. The date 1947 was mentioned but it was unclear if that was possibly the date of merger and not the date Roseart was producing.

The shades are in remarkable shape also no tears or bad stains however there are yellowish age spots all over them. I’d LOVE to clean them as no surprise they suit the lamps perfectly

If anyone has any idea how to safely do this I’d love the information. Amazingly the fabric is not thin or dry.

The finials as well feature extremely intricate detailing. photo attached

The magnet test indicates pure brass.

Any background you all could provide would be most appreciated. I believe truly understanding things enables you to appreciate them infinitely more. If only I could have traced their journey this far!!

    Best and thank you again!
