This doll is one of the kind

The skirt is made of paper, with hand ink-written sentences in French.

The wooden doll was sold around the world, made in Germany and in America

begining of the 1800's

It is a fortune telling doll. You choose a leaf and the message on tells your fortune:
'une personne t'aime d'amour" " someone loves you deeply".
    A rare and beautiful iem.

You're welcome, Manikin. You have a wonderful collection of dolls. I have seen the tuck combs or other peg woodens dressed as the peddlar dolls. This fortune teller, though, is a lot rarer, I bet. Especially having those papers in her skirt, you wouldn't expect a lot of them to survive the ravages of time.
