    Hi, I'm not sure if this is an authentic Majolica Character Jug or not, it looks alot like Black Bill, how can I be sure? It has a number 78911 and looks like 89 on the bottom.

      Real, the light blue interior dead giveaway for Sarreguemines. Love their stuff. My favorite majolica. The fact the glaze has held so well after a hundred and some odd years is tell tale for the factory. Not sure what they did differently but man it holds gloss and color wonderfully doesn't it.
