Just acquired letter opener/magnifying glass set

I acquired these from a tag sale, the owner passed away and the house and contents were being sold. The set is made in Japan, is stainless steel and has a patent number on it Pat. D214.470. I am not sure if the "D" is correct it was hard to make out. I was wondering if anyone new the approximate age or where I can find more info on the set. Thank you.
