Hi These were sold as collectible dolls not toys . many companes produced them and artists mainly in 80' to present . They are newer in that they are not vintage . There was a craze when these dolls new sold high and people bought because they liked them and also thought they would increase in value . However market fell off for them and the prices they bring is very low to what they sold for new .
Cute and make nice decorating displays . The Numbers are usually how many were made of each doll . They would often say 20/2000 example the 20 is the number of doll out out of mold was the 2oth and there were 2000 made . Those are just random numbers but hope that explains the numbers for you
Thank you sharing and to name exact person that scuplted them or produced them when there were hundreds of doll makers at time is near impossible unless you have the box they came in with name of company or doll has an artist name on it .
