Large expandable Leather suitcase

I picked this up at a garage sale. It has no maker marks on it at all that I can see. It is 31" x 17" x 9" collapsed and approx 12" expanded. I have been searching online for one similar and have found nothing. If anyone knows information as to possible age, origin, or value that would be wonderful. It has Arrow Brand center latch and the smaller latches have Japanese? markings on them. I am polishing this piece up for display and possibly a wall bench. I have looked at either putting it on a small base table or having a cushin made to sit on top and build a mahogony inner shell for bench support.
