    Good day.

I was was wondering if you can help me. I have an old Bulova watch with me from my Mom and I would like to ask for your help to determine if it is authentic and how old it is. I'm not familiar with watches but I can see from the back cover the notation L4 which from my research may mean this was made in 1954. I attached pictures of it for your review in case you have time. I can send other pictures if necessary.

If you can (and if allowed here), please let me know also of the value of this watch nowadays.

I look forward to your response.

    Thanks.

    Orville

It really depends on if it is working or not. The gold alone is worth$100 I'm guessing from your pics. You would need a gold scale to be sure. Then, you have diamonds and the working order of the watch. If it is not working, it will take $125-$150 for a jeweler or watchmaker to clean it and/or replace any parts broken. Then you have the sentimental value which all depends upon the person. I know that if it were in my family, I would definitely restore it & wear it on special occasions. These beautiful heirlooms are getting more & more valuable as people keep melting them down for their scrap value...such a shame & a waste...
Anyway, I hope that helps you. I love vintage watches!
      Sincerely, Kara:)
