Found this gem today. Husband fell in love with it but we do not know much about it. The light bulb is completely in silver, not half like I have seen other bulbs. Old ”Gilbert - New York City, made in USA” dial on/off and cord. Any info would be
    great

Look up Gilbert Rohde....He was one of the pioneers of American modern designs. He used a lot of metals and his designs for the most part are stunning.

If this is actually one his lamps.....well it worth pretty penny.

Either way it's a great lamp

The "Gilbert" name was on the cord, not on the lamp. Perhaps the name of the company who made the cord? No markings on the lamp at all :( I looked at his stuff and I do not think this is his. Though, thank you for the information!
