I got this group of dolls some time ago at a sidewalk sale, I was taken in by the expressions on their faces and their unique design, I've looked all over the internet to find anything out I can about these but so far no luck.

The woman I got them from said that they were made by her grandmother for her mother around the 1920's. So it's possible that they are one ups. There is what appears to be a bride, a little boy, a hobo, a musician, a little girl and one more plain one ( the Dad?). The are made of all buttons, wired together, glued to large buttons as stands and some have hats, and accessorys. They stand between 3"-4" tall..

Any thoughts on their origin or history would be appreciated, I thought they were folk dolls but they are not.

Very cute . These were all homemade . They sold patterns on how to make them in fact you can still get patterns to make these little dolls . Was a good way to use old buttons . Button dolls have been around a long time . Hard to date by buttons used as even new made ones use old vintage buttons . I would cherish them if my grandmother made them :-)
