Glass buttons from 1930's wedding outfit

Years ago, my wife's grandmother had the foresight to save the glass buttons she wore on her wedding suit from the 1930's. The outfit is long gone, but she placed them in a trinket box that she kept on her dresser. Unfortunately, she no longer remembers if the box, marked from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, was from her honeymoon, or just another trip, and we cannot tell based on the age of the box. It is marked Made in Germany, which I assume makes it pre-WWII, so regardless, it must be from early in her marriage. Some day we hope to upcycle the buttons into a necklace.

Not sure what it says that the buttons from her wedding suit were blood red...
