Strange vintage purse

I found this at a thrift store. It's a very interesting vintage purse. The clasp alone is different than I've ever seen. It's black patent leather and black leather inside. On the inside it has screws. That's the part I find interesting or weird. It's a nice bag. It looks to have brownish lucite on the top part of purse. Would like to know if anyone could tell me about this purse. Thank you!
