Victorian Gesso Frames

We picked up these frames at an antiques store in Healdsburg, CA for $35. They were in remarkable shape with very little damage to the gesso. The glass appears to be original. A perfect setting for period portraits of Dr. Johann Diederich Baetcke (1765-1833) and his wife, Margaretha Franziska Grapel (1770-1842). They were my partner's great-great-great grandfather's maternal grandparents.
