I was given this stuffed short plush bulldog when I was 8 or 9 YOA and now I am 70 YOA. My neighbor, who was a daughter of a maid that came from France, she was then in her late 70's and gave this to me back in the late 1940's. I don't have any Idea of what brand it is. The eyes are black stick pins and it has jointed arms and it stand about 18" tall.
Can you take a photo from back and side view ? Is the black line where nose would be stictched or painted ?
There are painted lines for smile and eyebrows. The nose is sewn around and puckered above the mouth and tongue.
I am thinking he is a Made in England Dog by MerryThought or Dean Rag England and possibly Alpha Farnell. Try searching them on google . He is wonderful ! Love him
