This item has a hard metal handle..the fabric covers a wooden box with a drawer that pulls out...WHat is this???thank u!! the box measures 6inches by 8 inches and the handle is maybe 16 inches long

It is a Victorian photograph album stand minus the photograph album.
The album would have been covered in the same fabric as the box front.

Worth very little as part of a photo album since it is incomplete and would be very hard to "match it" with an album.
Maybe someone looking to repurpose it would find some value in it.

I was under the impression of office supply I'm siding with scott & the album stand. As far as worth, I'd say sentimental value. I wouldn't mind having one, but I would pay the lowest price I could get it for. Great piece, but for investment purposes, I'd say a big maybe with out the complete set.
