I found this at an auction recently. It is a hair clipper of some sort. I am not sure if it is part of a barber shop collection or would have been a dog groomers tool.

There is a plate on the back that says The Electric Clipper Co. Kansas City MO. Number 169.

The blade says Browne & Sharpe No 000.

A Google search turned up nothing but a couple of patents owned by the company.

Any ideas on the history of this item? Was it a barbers tool?

Just a follow up. I opened it up and looked behind the name plate. It looks to be a rotary driven tool. No electric motor is inside. A rotary shift would need to be inserted in the bottom of the tool to make this work. Any idea of the rotary tool that would have been used? Any idea of the age of this tool?

has a 1920's kinda look to it but that is just a hunch.
