I found these in a group of antique & vintage buttons and beads I purchased. They look old, carved bone - measuring about 2 & 3/8" long (varies). One side is carved, the other is plain, each has two pegs at the bottom measuring about 1/2" long, and the edge above and between the pegs is ridged like a sawtooth. Three have a slot towards the top, the others have pierced designs. What was the purpose of these interesting items? I assume Asian in origin?
