This pocket watch will tick, but the wind at the top comes out which means it must be stripped out or something

Bent or missing keeper at the base of the winder stem, also doesn't appear to me that it's the right winder stem from this angle. Kerry
It doesnt have a cover on the front either
We found the same watch, near a WWII training area, but it has a black background and white numbering. Does anyone know what this means...if it is significant?
