Can anyone help identify this tableware, please?

I'm wondering if anyone recognises this tableware. The images are transfer printed and appear to depict famous French "scenes" or works of arts replacing the people with Insects/Beetles. I'm presuming that they are French in origin but there are no marks whatsoever on the base of any of the pieces. They are all damaged and I just like the quirky images but would be interested to find out something about why/when and who made them...... Thanks for looking.
