Please provide info on this item. Measures 13" long and blades end to end measure 6 1/2". This item was found in Lytle Texas when I was 10 yrs old

looks like some type of marker?
Could be a something like a Train Track marker??
Do you know how old this item is and is there any value on it?

Doesn't look like a hatchet to me by the ends -- but does look like it was to Stick into the ground for something..
Anyone else have any ideas?
The only other thing I am thinking of is a old Cemetery/grave marker but that is a ?????
