These came from an estate whose owner worked for DuPont Glass in Niagara Falls NY. I believe these are from the teens or early twenties as there was a note with them which read "... Wedding & Shower Gift Oct. 22, 1924" I have not seen any other painted glass like these. It appears to be pressed glass as there is a line running up both sides. At look at the bottom shows this is clear glass as does a look into the interior. The top part that is painted metallic silver has a rough patterned surface that is reminiscent of the hammered metals from the arts and crafts era. Any information regarding what this glass is classified as or referred to as and a country of origin would be greatly appreciated. Is this as unusual as I suspect or is this glass more common than I realize?

Any and all comments welcomed :)

I adore the shape of these, so svelte.
Does the colour appear to be a glass enamel? To me they have a continental look - I believe Dupont themselves mainly made industrial glass. They did work on pressed glass technology so may be these are a special from them.
Sorry, I don't know really - just musing and admiring.

Thanks Racer, I assume the purple is a sprayed paint and the metallic I'm unsure of. If I had to wager a guess it would be France maybe Czechoslovakia. Actually I think I've seen some reverse painted Czech glass in orange that is reminiscent. It's just I've never seen purple painted Czech glass and this paint is on the exterior where they usually utilize reverse painted glass. Idk maybe this is just slightly earlier like I said maybe from the teens. I do not believe it's anything manufactured by DuPont. However I have another listing on here of prototype glass made by dupont that lead to the patent of ruby red depression era glass - check it out! http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/150920-prototype-lab-glass-dupont-ruby-glass-de?in=user
