Show is an MG-34 spare barrel and it's carrier in original ordinance tan paint. The serial number on the barrel matches that of the serial number painted on the carrier. The MG-34 was used throughout the war, on all fronts. In 1942 the M-42 heavy machine gun overshadowed the M-34. Also shown is an ammo can which holds up to 500 rounds of ammo for the machine gun. The ammo for the machine gun was interchangeable with the K-98 Mauser rifle. Shown are original boxes of ammo for the K-98 and MG-34 and MG42. All of the ammo is dated 1938.
